Once we've decided to book with me there are a few things you'll need to do to confirm you session including making your deposit, submitting your contract, filling out the questionnaire and connecting with me through social media. All of these "to do" items can be found in the confirm your session section of this welcome guide. While completing your questionnaire on the payment page, think about your goals for the portrait session such as outfits, themes, props and color schemes (if any) and be sure to add them to the questionnaire. This questionnaire will give me inspiration and insight for creating a custom look for your session. I also encourage my families to share with me any photos, links from websites or images from Pinterest and Instagram that will help me get a better feel for what you are looking for.
Remember in order to reserve your day, a non-refundable 50% session fee deposit {remaining due the day of your session} and the signed contract are required which is submitted upon payment.
On the day of your session, we will meet at the designated location as discussed prior to your shoot. I shoot in a relaxed yet fast-paced style. I want to make sure you're comfortable and looking your best while getting the shots needed. My sessions are interactive so feel free to follow my lead but know that i'll be following your lead as well. It's my hope to capture the two of you being naturally you so feel free to interact with each other.
The best advice I can give you is to make sure you’re well rested on the day of the shoot, eat before arriving and stay well hydrated. Believe it or not, bad moods can show up in pictures. The better you feel, the better you’ll look.
After your photo shoot, the photos will be posted online to my client proofing website for viewing and ordering approximately two weeks later. If you'd like your album to be password protected, simply let me know anytime. Prints can be ordered directly from this site as well as shared via email and Facebook to your friends and family. You can also expect a blog post and images posted on my social media sites for promotion. You will also receive digital files as agreed based on the package you've selected. Please note, reproduction of any image is a violation of Federal Copyright Law however reprints are available through the client proofing site for up to a year after your session.
Your engagement session is all about you and your significant other so I encourage you to coordinate a cohesive ensemble that still shows off each of your unique personality and styles. You can also feel free to contact me before your session with questions or ideas about outfits. I'm very active on social media so you can even tag me/DM me a photo on Instagram or Facebook of a fashionable look or shot you're in love with. You can text or email me with questions or pictures.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for your photo session:
Consider limiting attire with distracting prints such as fine strips. Know that some prints can confuse the camera but if your style is bold and you love mixing prints and colors I say go for it! The best images are made when you are comfortable and confident in what you're wearing so be sure to wear what is unique to you. The idea is to document you and your style.
When planning your outfits think about your outfit from head to toe and don't be afraid to accessorize. Bring scarves, hats, jackets – anything that will add to your photo. The extra items make your session unique but be sure not to go overboard.
Your business is so important to me and referrals are the greatest compliment you can give a small business owner. So far my business has survived off the support and repeat business from amazing clients like you. I can't begin to tell you how each session has given me the opportunity to continue growing both professionally and personally.
Have a friend mention your name when they book their session and you receive a $25 credit on your next session (up to one free regular session) once their session fee is paid. They will also receive a $25 credit towards their current session.
*Referral credits are for new clients only, non transferable, and applies to regular session prices (mini sessions excluded)*
